Ananda Seva welcomes you to our 18th Annual International Summer retreat to be held August 2-7 at the Sanctuary, a new retreat site in Northwest Montana near Glacier National Park. The retreat will feature inspirational spiritual discourses, stimulating workshops, group meditations, yoga classes, music, campfires  and sumptuous yogic vegetarian cuisine.

The Theme of this retreat is .. "Community, Sustainability & Dharma"

Programs

Each day there will be two intuitionally inspired dharma teachings, four opportunities for group meditation, yoga classes plus a variety of  small group workshops.  The topics for the workshops are:    
 

  • Implementation of Dharma through Community and Sustainable Living
  • Developing Your Spiritual Core Through Yogic Meditation
  • How to Live a Yogic Life Spiritual Life
  • Yoga Philosophy and Tantra
  • Creating Spiritual Communities

 

Special Events

Thursday will be devoted to an exploration of Glacier National Park which is also known as the "Crown of The Continent." We will drive up to the Continental Divide at Logan Pass and then descend to Saint Mary's Lake for meditation and lunch.  The rest of the afternoon you can explore the Park at your own pace and return to the Sanctuary for the evening.

Saturday will be a day of deep inner exploration. There will be a Three hour kiirtan celebration in the morning followed by meditation and an inspired discourse. Silence will be kept on the site until lunch. The afternoon programs will focus on meditation and spiritual philosophy. Others may prefer to take silent walks in the woods. Saturday evening will be a concert ending in Avarta kiirtan (6 kiirtan tunes sung and danced to the six directions.)

The Retreat Center

At the Sanctuary you may relax and explore our private 76 acres  of woods and meadows plus hundreds of adjacent acres accessible for hikes along the woodland roads. You can swim in our swimming pond or find your own special private spot for  deep peaceful meditation. Close to the site are historical Indian petroglyphs (ancient Native American rock art) and the starting point of a 10 mile Bike trail that is also excellent for jogging.  For more informormation on the retreat center visit here.

Wall Tent or Tepee no cots               $75
Cabin or Dorm (Heated)                    $125

with Semi private Bath                     $150 per person (sleeps 3)  
                                                   
Private Apartment w Kitchen &          $500 family rate for the entire apartment  with private bath                       
Travel Trailer w kitchen                    $450 Sleeps 3-4 persons.
 
All accommodation except individual tenting includes bed linens and pillows.Discounts of $25 are available for those who bring their own bedding and pillows.A donation of $25 will be requested from those needing airport transportation.  
 
Those who wish to come early or stay later to view the area can pay a per diem rate for lodging. No meals will be provided before or after the retreat except for those in acarya meetings. 

Payment of Fees

A deposit of $100 is due by May 15th and three monthly payments of one third of the remaining balance will be due on the 15th of June, the 15th of July and on arrival at the retreat. Payments are refundable but the deposit is non-refundable. Those who register late may not have a choice of accommodation and due to space limitations may need to bring their own tents.

Getting Here

Glacier Park International Airport has regular service through Delta, United, and Alaska airlines. You may also reach us via Amtrak trains to Whitefish.
We are 20 miles (40 minutes) from the airport and 45 minutes from the train station.
 
We strongly urge you to book your tickets now as this is a very popular summer destination. Flights get booked up early and prices can rise by as much as $200 for bookings made in late spring and early summer. Two weeks before the retreat air ticket prices may double.  
 
We will attempt to provide some airport transportation but we will need to be notified one month in advance in order to make the arrangements. Car rental and taxi service is also available by reservation at the airport and train station.
