Meditation is a tool to quiet our mind, to reach that which already lies within every one of us, the sublime spark. It is the most effective way to quiet your mind and begin your journey within. Your efforts to do the meditation each day will assure a rewarding meditation experience for you.
Meditation is a process whereby we allow our mind to flow to deeper levels of consciousness. As our mind flows in this deeper dimension, our awareness of this vast universe and our place in it comes more into focus. It is in this understanding we begin to feel more truly at peace with ourselves and the world around us. To the extent that we can begin to experience this awareness we begin to experience bliss. Once awakened, there is a thirst for more knowledge and more experience of this deeper dimension. This thirst is what puts us on a quest to learn more of what lies within us.
The purpose of the Ananda Seva approach to meditation is to teach the technique of meditation and support and encourage your efforts to establish it as a regular practice. The meditation we teach concentrates on sound and on ideation. We use sound in a phrase or mantra to quiet our minds so that we can hear the divine music within. We use ideation to keep our minds concentrated on elevating thoughts. We then combine ideation and sound.
