Living in Time of Great Change
We are living in a time of great change like the shifting of the sands. In times like these people tend to either cling to their material existence and become rigid or they seek spiritual shelter and spiritual community (Sam'gha) realizing that there is nothing to hold to in this material world.
We have reached that threshold of change of epic proportions. Climate change is occurring even more rapidly than predicted with it's shifting weather patterns, catastrophic storms and melting polar ice caps. Earthquakes are occurring at an increasing pace and the political situation of the world has continued it's slide into strife and wars.
And we have not been able to escape these changes even here in our sacred corner of Montana. Increased population growth and development has changed the once placid character of our lifestyles. More recently we are also impacted by the changes in the national and world economies around us. Our community is changing, our weather is changing and the world we live in is changing.
Times of great change and shift are not new and fear of great shift is not new either. But one thing is not changing, it is the deep spiritual essence, the Divine presence that has brought all living beings into existence and will provide the necessary shelter both inner and outer in these times of great change. It is no mere coincidence that motivated serious interest in spiritual paths and practices has dramatically increased recently. In times of change and uncertainty we have a natural instinctual drive to turn inward to find the answers to vexing questions, to find deep peace and harmony within.
Ananda Seva means "Blissful Service" and was formed under the guidance of Shrii Shrii Anandamurti to give shelter, practices, teachings, guidance and a philosophy to guide us in times of growth and change. Meditation is the foundation of a set of practices to give us inner calm, concentration of mind and broad vision. The lessons are taught free of charge because Ananda Seva makes no discrimination based on an individual's ability to pay, but we are able to provide this service based on the generosity of those who financially support this work.
I warmly invite you to come to one of the upcoming talks and call or email us to find out more abut this set of very powerful and effective practices.
